Stonebridge II Passes Major Milestone

A major milestone was met on Phase II of our Stonebridge Senior Living Passive House project in State College, PA.  Our blower door testing, which measures the air tightness of the building envelope and is a key milestone and major pre-requisite in obtaining Passive House certification on a building, was passed this month.

Passive House certification requirements include a result of less than 0.6 ACH50 (0.6 air changes per hour at 50 pascals of pressure). Stonebridge II easily met the passive house requirements which took a lot of planning and coordination between our project team and the passive house inspector. Kudos to the team!

ABOUT PASSIVE HOUSE
Passive House is a voluntary construction concept that results in an energy efficient building with a lower ecological footprint. These lower energy buildings are designed to require minimal energy for space heating and cooling while supplying maximum comfort. The achievement of a certified Passive House building is a process that begins with the architectural design and carries through the entire pre-construction and construction phases.
